eButterfly, in partnership with the Montreal Institute for Learning Algorithms (MILA), has created eButterflAI, an advanced image recognition algorithm that has learned to recognize the genus and species for most North American butterflies based on their location and image. For every butterflier, I would be willing to bet that over the years, when out on field trips, you have had some ‘special’ butterflies in mind that you hope to come across – in other words, ‘Holy Grails’ or, simply, grails.
